THE PROBLEM
Jumio works in identity verification and KYC: confirming, remotely, that a person is who they claim to be. Face recognition sits at the core of that promise.
In identity verification, the recognition step is judged on every single attempt. A failure either blocks a real customer or lets the wrong person through.
Relying on third-party services for such a central capability means depending on someone else's roadmap and pricing for the most sensitive step of the product. Jumio wanted personalized face recognition software of its own.
WHAT WE BUILT
We helped develop Jumio's web application and built the personalized face recognition software used for identity verification. It replaced the third-party services behind that step.
Work like this combines two disciplines we practice every day: web application development for the product people actually use, and custom AI solutions for the recognition logic behind it.
OUTCOME
Jumio replaced third-party services with its own face recognition software and brought a core capability of its product in-house.
Owning the critical parts is a recurring theme in our work. Our own Namiru.ai AI customer support platform is built the same way: the parts that matter are ours, not rented.
