React Native renders native UI components and suits consumer apps where feel and on-device performance matter most. Ionic with Angular shares code and skills with your web application, which cuts cost when you already run an Angular frontend. We recommend one based on your product, not on what we happen to prefer.

For Asora, a wealth management platform, we built the hybrid mobile app with Ionic and Angular alongside most of the web frontend, so both share logic and design decisions.

Real-time calling, media and complex device features

Some apps do more than show data. For CloudTalk, a cloud telephony company, we helped build a hybrid mobile app with SIP.js and WebRTC so users can make and receive calls on the go. Voice, audio routing, background behavior and unreliable mobile networks all have to work together.

We bring the same care to camera, location, file handling and secure storage. Features are tested on real devices, not only on simulators, because that is where the edge cases live.

Maintaining a live app while building its successor

Rewrites fail when the old app is neglected during the move. At Rocket Lawyer we kept the existing Ionic app stable for its large user base while the React Native version was built. Releases continued, bugs were fixed, and users were not left waiting for the new app.

If you have an aging app, we audit it first, then recommend the cheapest safe path: refactor, incremental migration or a new build. Backends and APIs for the app can run on our own EU hardware, and the web counterpart can be built by the same team as a custom web application.

How much does a mobile app cost?

It depends on scope: number of screens, backend work, integrations, offline support, device features like calling or payments, and whether you need a companion web app. One cross-platform codebase usually costs far less than two native apps. Should we choose React Native or Ionic?

React Native is the better choice when native feel and device performance come first. Ionic with Angular wins when you already have an Angular web app and want to share code and developers. We have shipped both in production, for Rocket Lawyer, CloudTalk and Asora, so the recommendation is based on your product, not on habit.

Do you publish the app to the App Store and Google Play?

Yes. We set up developer accounts in your company name or work in your existing ones, prepare builds and listings, and handle the review process. Apps are published under your company, so you keep full control of the listing, the reviews and the users.

Who owns the app code?

You do. The source code, signing keys, store accounts and IP for the work you pay for belong to you. The repository can live in your organization from the start, so you are never locked in to us and any future team can build and release the app.

Can you maintain an app another vendor built?

Yes. We start with a code review and a working build of the current version, then fix the urgent issues first. Maintaining a large production app while building its replacement is exactly what we did for Rocket Lawyer, so a messy handover does not scare us.

Where does the app backend run?

On our dedicated EU hardware in German data centers by default: flat pricing, 24/7 monitoring, automated backups and GDPR by default. If you need AWS or your own infrastructure, we deploy there instead. Either way, the API, push notifications and data storage are set up and monitored by the team that built the app.
