THE PROBLEM
A marketplace lives or dies on search. People renting a car compare options, filter, change their mind and filter again. If results are slow or the booking flow is confusing, they leave.
BearingPoint needed a Mobility Marketplace for car rentals with advanced search and booking, working well on every screen size and ready to scale.
Car rental search has many dimensions at once: location, dates, vehicle type and price all interact. Every filter a user touches has to respond quickly, or the marketplace feels broken even when it is not.
Responsive also means more than a layout that shrinks. Search and booking have to stay as usable with a thumb on a phone as with a mouse on a desktop.
WHAT WE BUILT
We developed the marketplace frontend: advanced search, the booking flow and a responsive interface that works from phone to desktop. Performance and UX were requirements from the start, not a polish phase at the end.
The frontend was built to scale, which is standard for our web application development work. The same focus on speed drives our website development projects, where every second of load time shows up in the numbers.
